1. The service and these draft terms
BuildMode Studio is a creative workspace for collecting references, connecting ideas and preserving the reasoning behind decisions. Available features can include visual canvases, a Library, project memory, AI-assisted directions, blueprints and execution plans.
These are proposed terms for review, not an effective agreement. The confirmed launch model is a free private beta operated personally by an individual based in Sri Lanka under the public brand BuildMode Studio, without a separately incorporated company. References to BuildMode Studio identify the service or its individual operator as the context requires; they do not identify a separate legal entity. Disclosure of the operator’s legal name and physical address remains unresolved, pending explicit approval and jurisdiction-specific legal review. The final operator disclosures and effective date must be resolved before these terms become binding.
2. Private-beta access
The initial private beta is free and access-controlled; paid subscriptions and billing are not active. A request for early access does not guarantee an invitation, a particular launch date or continued feature availability. Beta software may contain errors, become unavailable or change as it is developed. Keep independent copies of important work; do not use the beta as your only archive.
You must be at least 18 and have authority to use the service and share the material you submit. If you act for an organization, you must be authorized to do so. The beta is intended to be available internationally, subject to applicable legal restrictions. Age verification and regional access enforcement are not claimed to be implemented.
3. Accounts and security
Authentication is provided through Clerk. Use an account you are authorized to control, keep access credentials secure and do not share another person’s session or bypass authentication or ownership checks. Tell BuildMode about suspected unauthorized access through hello@buildmodestudio.com, without sending passwords or secret keys.
The availability of account-provider controls does not establish a complete BuildMode account-data deletion process. The Privacy Policy draft explains the current limitations.
4. Your content and the permissions needed to run the service
You retain the rights you hold in the content you submit. Saving an image, link or other reference does not give you ownership of someone else’s work. You are responsible for having permission or another valid legal basis to upload, use and share it.
The proposed content permission is limited to hosting, storing, copying, displaying and processing your content as needed to provide the features you use, including sending relevant content to providers for requested AI functionality. It does not transfer ownership to BuildMode or grant a right to publish your private projects for advertising. The operator must approve this license and its duration and deletion interaction before these terms are final.
BuildMode’s name, logo, interface and software are separate from your submitted content. This draft does not grant a right to impersonate BuildMode or claim ownership of its branding or software.
5. AI functionality
Invoking AI features sends relevant project context to Anthropic. Context can include reference text, link metadata, decisions, current-state notes and images. Read the Privacy Policy draft before submitting content you are not permitted to share with an AI provider.
AI suggestions and generated plans can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, similar to other outputs or unsuitable for your situation. Review them before using or relying on them. They are not professional legal, medical, financial or other regulated advice.
AI output is not a guarantee of originality, accuracy, exclusivity or intellectual-property protection. Any rights you may have in output remain subject to applicable law and third-party rights; this draft does not promise copyright ownership or clearance.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, impersonation, harassment, exploitation or infringement of intellectual-property or privacy rights.
- Do not submit malware, stolen credentials or content you lack authority to process. Do not expose another person’s confidential or sensitive information without permission and a valid basis.
- Do not attempt to access another user’s projects, evade rate limits or authentication, probe systems without authorization, disrupt service or abuse storage and AI resources.
- Do not treat saved references or AI output as permission to copy third-party work unlawfully. Respect the rules of external sites and the providers involved in your use.
7. External services and links
Sign-in, storage, hosting and AI functionality depend on external providers. Saved links and preview images can lead to external websites. BuildMode does not control the availability or contents of those websites, and their terms may apply when you interact with them.
A provider’s involvement does not remove any obligations BuildMode has under applicable law. The final provider arrangements and transfer disclosures must be checked before publication.
8. Availability, suspension and ending use
You may stop using the service. Stopping use or signing out does not itself delete stored data. Current deletion controls and their limits are described in the Privacy Policy draft.
The proposed beta terms would allow access to be restricted when reasonably necessary to address security threats, unlawful activity, material misuse or legal requirements. Notice, appeal, data-access arrangements and treatment of content when access ends still require an operational decision; no implemented appeal or complete account-deletion workflow is promised here.
9. Responsibility and mandatory rights
Use the beta with care, keep backups and verify important decisions independently. No uninterrupted availability or error-free results are promised by this draft.
Nothing in the final terms should exclude rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. The proposed governing-law baseline is the law of Sri Lanka. It does not override mandatory consumer or privacy protections that apply in your jurisdiction. No exclusive court venue or compulsory arbitration is selected. Any warranty or liability provisions and dispute procedure require legal review; no monetary liability cap or refund policy is set by this draft.
